經濟部於 2021 年 5 月 20 日發布函令，大陸地區之營利事業在臺設立分公司或辦事處許可辦法第 13 條第 2 項規定，辦事處業務範圍下之「研究」業務活動，其範疇限於「與市場調查有關之統計、整理及分析」。

On 20 May 2021, the Ministry of Economic Affairs issued a ruling that the business activity of "research" by representative offices of Chinese companies set forth in Paragraph 2 of Article 13 of Regulations Governing Branch Offices or Representative Offices in Taiwan of Chinese Companies is limited to "statistic, consolidation, and analysis of market research".
