2025年9月19日，日本首相與巴林王國首相進行會談，雙方出席兩國合作備忘錄簽署儀式，兩國相關機構在專利、航太、公共部門人力資源開發及數位合作領域簽署的4項合作備忘錄，其中由日本特許廳（the Japan Patent Office, JPO）與巴林王國工業貿易部（the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of the Kingdom of Bahrain）簽署雙邊專利審查高速公路（Patent Prosecution Highway, PPH）合作備忘錄，同意自2026年1月1日啟動PPH。
日本特許廳藉此機會與巴林王國工業貿易部合作，透過分享及利用專利審查結果，致力於提高專利審查效率，使日本企業智慧財產權在巴林王國能快速準確地受到保障。
