Social workers have been playing pivotal roles in the intervention and treatment of family violence (FV) cases in which they carry out generic and comprehensive services for the good of clients based on their professional expertise and skills. Under limited time frame and regulation, they are expected to provide satisfactory services for various kinds of clientele in unique need. In order to learn the difficulties encountered by FV social workers, in-depth interviews were undertaken with 13 governmental social workers in a south-middle county of Taiwan. Difficulties in dealing with FV cases and FV service delivery had been thoroughly explored and some possible measures for improving FV service delivery were also discussed. Some feasible solutions for the amelioration of FV service delivery has been raised in this article. And, to a certain degree, the recommendation should be worthy of noting for the other public social work sectors in charge of FV service delivery.
