隨著個資保護意識的高漲，擁有數量龐大之個人資料的保險業在蒐集、處理與利用個人資料時即應謹慎處理，以避免牴觸個人資料保護法的規範。本文除以實務面的角度來思考如何因應個人資料保護法外，另為使保險產業知己知彼，亦蒐集美國 39 州有關個資保護的法令並詳加整理，俾便讀者可以瞭解國外個資保護情形並予以借鏡參考。

Accompanying with the conscious awakening of personal information protection, the insurance industry of Taiwan who possesses a great quantity of the insured information should pay more attention during collecting, assembling, evaluating, compiling, reporting, transmitting, transferring, communicating, processing and using personal information to avoid violating the Articles of the Personal Information Protection Act. In order to give some inspirations to the insurance industry of Taiwan, in this article, we not only arrange the contents of the Act from the practical point of view, but also introduce 39 states of United States and the Insurance Department of Connecticut about how they engage to protect the personal information, thus we can do much better in the future.
