The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between the Internet of Things (IoT) and insurance industry. In addition to describe the applications of IoT on property/liability and life insurance companies, we also investigate the connection between IoT and big data. In this paper, we will focus on the IoT applications and propose feasible applications for the Taiwan insurance industry that can be adopted in the near future.
