Taiwanese nationalism is one of important political dynamics for the democratization of Taiwan, which means opposing Chinese nationalism and Han chauvinism. The Chinese democracy movement cannot avoid the issue of national self-determination in terms of value. Taiwanese nationalism used to be puzzled by the relationship between the Overseas Chinese Democracy Movement and the Kuomintang, but Taiwan's democratization has made them willing to support China's democratization from the stand point of universal values. They also hope that through cooperation and interaction, they can help the Chinese democratic movement to rediscover Taiwan. The Overseas Chinese Democracy Movement has also learned to respect multiculturalism in its contact with Taiwan, so as to reflect on their position and political propositions in the face of Chinese national minorities freedom movement. From the author's personal experience and close observations, this article discusses the interaction between the overseas Taiwanese democracy movement and the Overseas Chinese Democracy Movement in the process of democratization in Taiwan, and how to further reshape the relationship between the Taiwan's democracy movement and the Taiwan independence movement and the Chinese democracy movement, then create a new imagination for the relationship between Taiwan and China in the future.
